Kingston was house physician at MRI and dermatologist for the UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles, California, before being appointed senior registrar in dermatology to the Skin Hospital, Salford. He was later appointed consultant dermatologist to Stepping Hill Hospital Stockport.
