Hulme was a surgeon in Stretford. He died on 8 December 1829 aged sixty eight.
Hulme's son, Jonathon Hulme (1791?-1813) was also a surgeon. He was a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and died on 26 January 1813 aged twenty two.
