Administrative / Biographical History

Morison qualified from Glasgow University in 1896 and became a GP in Manchester. During service in the First World War he gained experience in radiology. In 1922 he became a honorary radiologist at MRI and Ancoats Hospital Manchester, and received the DMRE in 1924. In 1925 he was appointed director of the radiological department at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, and in 1929 became professor of radiology at London University, the first such chair to be established in the UK.
