BSc Manch 1930, MB ChB 1933; MRCS LRCP 1934; DPH Liv 1952.

Kennedy undertook his medical training at the University of Manchester and was house physician at MRI and orthopaedic house surgeon at Ancoats Hospital Manchester before moving to Liverpool where he worked in general practice and gained his DPH. He was later appointed assistant county medical officer for Staffordshire and medical officer of health for Seisdon. Kennedy was a fellow of the Society of Medical Officers of Health.
