MB CH Manch 1914, DPH 1924.

McKinlay studied medicine at the University of Manchester and was awarded a distinction in forensic medicine and toxicology. He held junior appointments at MRI and was a major in the RAMC before being appointed assistant school medical officer for Salford Education Committee and assistant clinical tuberculosis officer to Salford. He died at his home in St Anne's on Sea on 5 November 1932.
