Lempriere studied medicine at Owens College Manchester and held resident appointments in Manchester at MRI, Crumpsall Hospital and Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. He served as a captain in the RAMC, and was medical officer of Haileybury College in Hertfordshire, a position he held for thirty-five years. Lempriere was president of the Medical Officers of Schools Association from 1924 to 1927. Lempriere died on 28 August 1947 at the age of 75.
