MB ChB Manch 1901; MRCS LRCP 1901.

Lister studied medicine at Owens College Manchester. He was assistant medical officer at Manchester Workhouse Infirmary and resident medical officer at Barnes Convalescent Hospital, Blackley. Lister was resident medical officer at Plaistow Fever Hospital before being appointed assistant tuberculosis officer for Somerset, doing important work in prevention of tuberculosis in Bath and the surrounding areas. Lister died, following an operation, on 18 August 1931, aged 55.
