Kelynack was born in Somerset on 26 June 1866. Kelynack received his medical education at Owens College Manchester and was demonstrator and later assistant lecturer in pathology at the College. He was also lecturer in physiology and hygiene to Manchester Municipal School. Kelynack was house physician, pathologist and medical registrar at MRI. He later moved to Hertfordshire and became editor of British Journal of Tubercolosis,British Journal of Inebriety, and The Child. Kelynack's wife, Clara Violet Kelynack, née McLaren (known as Violet), d 1940, was also a doctor and was medical secretary to the Medical Women's Federation. Their daughter, Agnes Violet Kelynack was also a doctor. Kelynack died on 23 December 1944.
