Administrative / Biographical History

Harold Palmer took the MB ChB from Manchester in 1927, followed by the DPM in 1933 and the MD in 1937. A specialist in mental health, he was a consultant psychiatrist for the North West Metropolitan Health Board. Palmer went to New Zealand as physician and lecturer in psychiatry, returning to England as consultant psychiatrist and medical superintendent at Hill End Hospital, St Albans. He died on 2 May 1981.
