Sir Ponsonby writes concerning Ireland and Queen Victoria's advice to Gladstone to distance himself from the "extreme radicals" to "moderate the excesses of the violent reformers" prior to the general election. He further writes with the Queen's advice to SCC concerning allaying the "passions of men" and "impracticable schemes". Sent from: Balmoral.
