SCC writes to his father informing him of the ceremony he attended which he did not enjoy and had to sit through a lecture on the history of the Jews. He reports that he has made friends with Sir John Ramsden, "Sykes" and "Bridgeman" but describes the other commoners as "snobs". He has had his first lecture and plans to find more time to do his reading. Sent from: Trinity College, Cambridge, date stamped 21 Oct.
