SCC writes to his maternal grandmother apologising for not writing sooner as he had lots of lessons. He reports that the weather has made it difficult for haymaking. On 20 July, he writes that it has been raining but he has still been out riding. He is glad that his grandfather [George Howard, 6th Earl of Carlisle] is well. Sent from: Holker, date stamped 19 July.
