The Queen writes expressing her truly deep sympathies following the death of Lord Edward Cavendish. She further writes that she sympathises with the Duke [of Devonshire] and she knows from personal experience what it is to lose a child. She finally writes of her concern for "poor dear Emma" [Lady Edward Cavendish] and trust that she will be "mercifully supported". Sent from: Balmoral Castle.
