Ponsonby writes to SCC to inform him that he has a "good temper" to deal with the situation in India. He reports that Queen Victoria has requested that SCC comes to Balmoral for a week to ten days around 16 October. There is an endorsement written on this letter in black ink which reads, "17th August 1880. The Queen per Sir H. Ponsonby. To be asked to Balmoral 16th October." Sent from: Osborne, date stamped, 17 June.
