Letter from Lady Evelyn Cavendish (née Petty-FitzMaurice) to Spencer Compton Cavendish, 8th Duke of Devonshire

Lady Cavendish writes concerning the Tariff Reform controversy and the resignation of Mr Victor Cavendish. She writes that she feels his resignation is largely influenced by his high regard for SCC rather than his own convictions. She finally writes asking SCC for his thoughts on the matter and asks if SCC will advise him [Victor Cavendish] to accept promotion from Mr Balfour when he offers it.
