Oppenheim writes that the Egyptian authorities have no faith in Sir Evelyn Wood and the British Army after the deefat of Valentine Baker. He writes that this opinion was not helped by the appearance of Wood at a ball in Cairo dressed as an Arab woman. He writes that there is a feeling in Cairo that there will be a new catastrophe in Egypt whilst they wait for the British Army to take precautions in Sudan. Date stamped, 20 Feb.
