SCC writes to the Prince of Wales at Crown Prince Palace, Berlin, forwarding on information sent by [Lieutenant General Sir Gerald] Graham concerning the Sudanese War. He writes that the "Berkshire" and "Marines" were ordered to clear a high hill with the enemy driven off. He writes that the enemy was estimated at four thousand and the loss inflicted was "considerable". He writes of the losses to British troops detailing individual officers from the Scots Guards, 5th [Royal Irish] Lancers and the 9th Bengal Cavalry. Sent from: London on War Office headed paper.
