He writes that certain soldiers are being targeted. He asks for Cranworth's legal opinion as to whether certain documents can be released to law officers for their advice. There is an endorsement written in red ink on the letter which reads "Lord (Chancellor) Cranworth letter to- 3/4/66. Fenianism amongst soldiers- Legal points- Judge Adv [seul] Law rights of Crown". The letter is written on War Office headed paper. Date stamped, 3 April.
