SCC writes to Wolseley regarding the proposed expedition to Khartoum to relieve General Charles Gordon. He writes that the deployment of additional troops has been approved but Prince George, Duke of Cambridge does not support the establishment of a "camel corps." He informs Wolseley to show restraint in regards to an advance and advises that he instructs Thomas Baring, 1st Earl Northbrook to keep an open mind on the abandonment of Khartoum.
