Scope and Content

Lady Lucy writes to SCC regarding the trial for the Phoenix Park Murders, [where her brother, Lord Frederick Cavendish was assassinated]. She writes that her husband's death is like an open wound but she takes comfort that he died a noble death whilst protecting Thomas Henry Burke. She writes in support of SCC who she writes has received criticism after giving a speech mentioning his brother which has been described as being in "vengeful spirit."
