Mr Coward writes concerning a possible purchase of the 'The Times' newspaper. He writes proposing the raising of £200,000 to place "the undertaking upon a better financial footing". He further writes whilst that the newspaper is currently making "little or no profit" the printing of the paper is now yielding a profit of £30,000 annually, suggesting that the two businesses be amalgamated. He also writes detailing what he believes should be done to make the newspaper profitable again and advises that "parties of business experience in connection with journalism should be found". He finally writes that Lord Rothschild has been informed of these discussions. Sent from: [unknown]. Enclosure to CS8/3300.
