Scope and Content

Granville writes to SCC regarding the general election. He reports that SCC's campagn in North East Lanchashire is succeeding and Edward Stanley, 15th Earl of Derby has said he will be suprised if SCC fails. He writes further on his fears for the election. He reports on relations with William Ewart Gladstone and advises that if the Liberal Party come to power, SCC will have to handle Gladstone in a particular way.
