SCC writes to his father to inform him that he will go to Kimbolton and then Chatsworth now the Cabinet has calmed down. He reports that Russia has annoouced that due to "alleged infractions" of the "Treaty of 1866" they will disregard any article of the treaty relating to the Black Sea. SCC writes that they will contest and might revise the treaty with all the powers. However he writes that he does not think the Russian's plan will come to anything.
