SCC writes to Stephenson regarding relieving General Charles Gordon in Khartoum. He writes for his opinion as to whether they should use the word "relief" or "removal" in relation to the expedition. He writes that he favours the Suakin route and believes that Garnet Wolseley, 1st Baron is overrating the Nile route. He reports that they will have to reckon with the Arabs in regards to access to this route. Sent from: London, date stamped, 25 April.
