SCC writes to Wolseley regarding the expedition to Khartoum to relieve General Charles Gordon. He writes that the House of Commons are being very patient regarding the progress of the expedition but the newspapers are more despondant and SCC requests some information from Wolseley that can be used in publication. He writes that an expedition to Suakim may be out of the question as it is an expedition without a definite objection and asks if an alternative can be found. Sent from: London, date stamped, 11 Dec.
