SCC writes to his father that he is possibly in consideration for a Lordship of the Admiralty which he prefers to being offered an Office. However, he writes that it forces a re-election if it was to occur. He reports that he may have to go up tomorrow to vote against "Horsfall's motion". He writes that he may not be able to return to Croker to see his father. He asks his father for help for "Edwin" regarding a bill that is facing opposition. He ends the letter by wishing his sister well for her birthday. Sent from: Melton, date stamped, 16 March.
