Mr Chamberlain writes concerning the Samoan crisis and Anglo-German negotiations . He writes that he has seen [Baron von] Eckhardstein and informed him that he has cabled to the colonies however Lord Salisbury "could not initial" until a reply has been received. He also writes that Eckhardstein is "rather too fidgety". He further writes that he "did not care a twopenny damn if the whole gang [Russia and France] of them combined against us". He finally writes concerning troops in Natal, the Boers, Durban and Cape Town [South Africa]. Letter is marked "Private".
