Scope and Content

Correspondence with Violet Rosa Markham (1872-1959), public servant, relating to discussion of Scott's views on the division of the Liberal party, ways in which the party might move forward, and reference to [David] Lloyd George, prime minister, and his role in party co-operation. Also included is reference to the role of France in the League [of Nations] and the suggestion that Markham write an article on the International Labour Conference, for publication in the Manchester Guardian, which is accepted, with discussion of the session of the Governing Body which Markham will be attending, rather than the conference itself.

There is a request that Scott publish a letter to the editor by Markham on unemployment, with particular reference to mining areas, which is accepted, and discussion of current political affairs.
