There is discussion of the divisions in the Liberal party, and an appeal by Scott that Maclean assist in facilitating a potential reconciliation with the Coalition Liberal party. Also included is correspondence relating to a proposed holiday to Egypt by Maclean, with discussion of the present political situation in Egypt, and a request to receive articles for the Manchester Guardian on the subject by Maclean should he consider writing on the subject during the visit.
