There is a request from Price for further letters of accreditation and introduction as a correspondent for the Manchester Guardian in Russia, which are provided, with discussion of Price's proposed journey to Russia and Poland, [to act as a war correspondent for the paper]. There is also discussion of the provision of a copy of a book by Price, The Diplomatic History of War. Also included is correspondence relating to Price's reports from Russia, with discussion of the use of letters and telegrams, and a request by Price for publicity in the Manchester Guardian for an appeal for a fund for Armenian and Assyrian refugees, which is granted.
There is a letter from [illegible] Mande, relating to a query as to Price's role as a correspondent for the Manchester Guardian, as he has become editor of a Bolshevist newspaper in Russia, The Call, and has published a propaganda pamphlet entitled The Truth About the Allied Intervention, which states that he is a correspondent for the paper. There is also a letter from Scott terminating Price's role as a correspondent, and an explanation that the Manchester Guardian cannot be associated with Bolshevist propaganda.
There is correspondence between, Price, Scott and Arthur E.E. Reade, journalist and activist, relating to a letter to the editor by Reade with a complaint regarding the refusal of The Times to publish an advertisement for the Labour Monthly. There is discussion of a complaint made by Scott, who refutes the description in the advertisement of Price as a former correspondent for the Manchester Guardian. There is also discussion of Price's work for the paper, and to Labour Monthly's decision to retain the description in the advertisement. Also included are related internal memoranda.
There is a request from Scott to B.N. Langdon Davies, writer and publisher, for the alteration of Price's entry in Labour Who's Who in order to remove any mention of the Manchester Guardian, which is granted.
