Scope and Content

Correspondence between Peter Rennell Rodd (1904-1968), army officer, and E.T. Scott, relating to an application by Rodd for employment as a foreign correspondent for the Manchester Guardian, with details of previous experience, which is declined, and accompanied by a related internal memorandum.

Also included is discussion of an offer by Rodd to provide messages to the Manchester Guardian on the meetings of the BIS [Bank of International Settlements] in Basel, and also from the Bankers Exchange conference in Prague, which are declined. There is a further application for employment as a foreign correspondent by Rodd, which is acknowledged.
