Scope and Content

Correspondence relating to [Carl Friedrich] Goerdeler, politician and civil servant, between Sir Ernest [Simon?, industrialist and politician] and [Reinhold] Schairer, educationist, relating to a proposed confidential visit by Schairer and Goerdeler to Sir Ernest, discussion of Goerdeler, and the roles and posts he has held in Germany, and further arranged confidential meetings for Goerdeler in Britain and America with figures of import.

There is also correspondence between [Frederick Augustus] Voigt, journalist and author, and Crozier, relating to discussion of the financial state of Germany, Italy and Japan, a potential attack of Austria by Hitler, and the preoccupation of Italy, England and France with Spain. There is a request from Crozier for an article by Voigt on present position of Austria, and reference to information provided by Voigt on Goerdeler, accompanied by a related internal memorandum.
