Scope and Content

Correspondence with Peter Green (1871-1961), clergyman, relating to discussion of Green's employment as a religious contributor for the Manchester Guardian, under the pseudonym Artifex, with discussion of specimens of writing, a meeting between Scott and Green, and Green's previous experience, and subjects of and payment for articles, accompanied by internal memoranda discussing the subject. There is a letter of recommendation for Green from his predecessor, E.L. Hicks, clergyman [referred to by the pseudonym Quartus].

There is a request by Scott that Green suggest a means of opposition to the exploitation of betting for revenue purposes, with discussion of potential means of approaching the issue.
