Correspondence between Harry Louis Nathan, first Baron Nathan (1889-1963), lawyer and public servant, and E.T. Scott, relating to a request by E.T. Scott for the sources of information for a statement made in a letter to the editor by Nathan published by the Manchester Guardian relating to a declaration by Baldwin and MacDonald that they would not take office after the general election [1929] without an independent majority, with discussion of the sources.
There is a request that Free Trade Today by Nathan be reviewed by the Manchester Guardian. There is also a request for publicity for the free trade conference, organised by Nathan and enquiry as to whether the Manchester Guardian will be sending a representative, which are confirmed.
