Correspondence with Sir Alfred Eckhard Zimmern (1879-1957), internationalist, relating to an offer by Zimmern of articles for the Manchester Guardian on the presidential nomination conventions, and on women's suffrage in California and Oregon, which are accepted, with discussion of requirements for the articles. There is a request by Zimmern for a letter of accreditation as a correspondent for the paper, which is granted. Also included is discussion of Zimmern's need to return to Britain unexpectedly, and inability to provide the articles offered, with discussion of women's suffrage in California, and the political situation in America.

Also included is discussion of complaints made to Zimmern by Lieutenant [Jules?] Riboud, army officer, on the approach of Britain to the [First World] war, which are refuted by Scott.

There is correspondence between Zimmern and E.T. Scott, discussing the [League of Nations] resolution on the [Sino-Japanese dispute], about which Zimmern has contacted E.T. Scott.
