Scope and Content

Correspondence between Hugh MacGregor, information officer at the India Office, and E.T. Scott, relating to the Provision of a summary of the report of the Indian Statutory Commission, with instructions on the restrictions as to how it may be used prior to the issue of the report.

There is also correspondence between MacGregor and W.P. Crozier, relating to discussion of an effort made to improve recruitment to the I.C.S. [Indian Civil Service], of recruitment figures, the universities which were attended by the new members of staff, and thanks for support for the scheme provided by the Manchester Guardian. There is correspondence relating to arrangements for meetings between Crozier and Lord Zetland [Lawrence Dundas], secretary of state for India, politician and author, and discussion of the subjects Crozier would like to cover in the meetings.
