Scope and Content

Correspondence with Sir Christopher T. Needham (1866-1944), businessman and politician, relating to the provision of an article by Needham on the situation in India by J.M. Dunnett, public servant and magistrate in India, with reference to Dunnett's work for the government in India, for publication in the Manchester Guardian, which is accepted. Also included is an internal memorandum discussing the subject.

There is a complaint by Needham over the publication of information about shares in the District Bank, which Needham alleges are false, and an apology for any annoyance caused to Needham.

There is correspondence between Needham and W.P. Crozier, relating to praise by Needham of a speech by Crozier on the unveiling of a memorial to C.P. Scott and E.T. Scott at the Manchester Guardian office at Cross Street, which is acknowledged with thanks. Also included is discussion of Crozier's health, and possible return to work on a reduced scale of activity.
