Montgomery, civil servant at the Foreign Office, requesting that Montague be released from his present position in the reserve battalion in order to take part in a tour of the Russian front by British pressmen, with details of Montague's war service and experience, accompanied by related internal correspondence.
There is correspondence relating to Montague's resignation from employment, with Scott's regret at his decision and discussion of his value to the paper. There is also an envelope inscribed 'C.E.M. resignation A/M84/7-11'.
