Scope and Content

Correspondence with Francis Sydney Marvin (1863-1943), educationist, positivist, and historian, relating to an offer of articles by Marvin for publication in the Manchester Guardian from a proposed visit to India, with a view to writing a book [India and the West: A Study in Co-operation], which are declined, but with a request for accounts of the interviews which Marvin will have with Mohandas Karamchand [Mahatma] Gandhi , political leader and religious and social reformer, and Rabindranath Tagore, poet and educationist, which are provided and accepted for publication.
