Scope and Content

Correspondence with Sir Charles Leonard Woolley (1880-1960), archaeologist, relating to an offer by Woolley of articles on the situation in Turkey for publication in the Manchester Guardian, which are declined. Also included are internal memoranda discussing the subject. There is a letter of recommendation for Woolley from Sir Arthur Evans, archaeologist. There is also an offer by Woolley of an article on the perspective of the Fellahin of Upper Egypt, which is accepted, with a request for further articles describing village life in Egypt.
