Correspondence with M. Drummond, relating to discussion of letters to the editor written by Drummond on taxation and its impact in Ireland, which are published in the Manchester Guardian. As a result of these letters, Drummond meets with several politicians, including [T.] W. Russell and Sir Edward Grey, to discuss the Irish quote of the Imperial Treasury, and a proposal for Irish taxation to be controlled from Dublin, which, Drummond believes, would facilitate in the dialogue on home rule for Ireland. There is discussion of John Redmond, politician, and his response to the proposal, and the potential to reunite the Liberal and Irish parties.
GDN/A/D48A/2-4 are articles by [Drummond] on taxation and expenditure in Ireland, proposals for tax reforms, and of Home Rule for Ireland, entitled 'Irish Taxation', 'Ireland and the Budget', and 'Through Green Glasses', in the Manchester Guardian, 1904.
