Also included is correspondence between Hobbs and A.P. Wadsworth, relating to discussion of Hobbs illness, and inability to return to work as a sub-editor. There is a memorandum with information on Hobbs for use in his obituary. There are letters from A.P. Wadsworth in support of the temporary, and permanent release of Hobbs' daughter from her position as leading aircraft woman with the Royal Air Force on compassionate grounds, owing to her father's illness, and to the care needed by her mother, Elsie Hobbs, a chronic invalid.
