Scope and Content

Correspondence with George Lambert, first Viscount Lambert (1866-1958), politician, relating to a request for a meeting with Scott to discuss Lambert's removal from the Liberal Party, which is granted. Also included is a copy of a letter to Lord [Herbert John] Gladstone, politician, relating to discussion of Lambert's objection to his removal from the list of Liberal Party candidates, with reference to his 30 years of experience as a Liberal member of parliament, and the current divisions in the Liberal Party which Lambert believes led to his dismissal.

There is also correspondence relating to a request for Scott's approval of a letter sent by Lambert to [David] Lloyd George, politician and [Herbert Henry] Asquith, politician recommending a meeting between the respective factions of the Liberal Party to discuss its future, which is granted, with discussion of the potential responses likely to be received.
