Scope and Content

Correspondence with Sir Francis Dyke Acland, 14th Baronet (1874-1939), politician, relating to requests for Acland to write articles on land reform, and discussion of potential amendments in land policy. Also included is discussion of the articles written by Acland, their potential reprinting, and internal memoranda on payment for the articles.

There is correspondence relating to a response by Acland to a letter from [Montague] Fordham of the Rural Reconstruction Association [printed in the Manchester Guardian] and discussion of the control of imported food, and a request that Scott consider articles written by his son, [Sir] Richard [Thomas Dyke Acland, 15th Baronet], for potential publication in the Manchester Guardian (GDN/A/A9/11-14).

Also included is correspondence between Acland and E.T. Scott relating to a riposte written by Acland to an article on proposals for land value taxation, which Acland would like the Manchester Guardian to publish (GDN/A/A9/15-17).
