Scott, relating to discussion of requests made to the Manchester Guardian for contact information for Harby, following the publication of a letter to the editor by Harby on the conditions in prison timber camps in Russia, and the use of prisoners in the timber export trade, with reference to his own experience in Archangel, accompanied by an internal memorandum discussing the subject. There is reference to a statement by [Carlyon Wilfroy] Bellairs, politician, in the House of Commons as to an inability to trace Harby to have him confirm his statements on Russia.
Also included is correspondence between Ernest Oldmeadow, editor of The Tablet, and E.T. Scott, relating to discussion of an article in The Tablet on Harby's articles on timber production in Russia, which states that the Manchester Guardian has been unwilling to provide contact information for Harby.
