Scope and Content

Correspondence with [Maulana] Mohamed Ali, journalist and activist, [The Comrade], relating to a request for Scott's assistance in arranging a meeting at which he might speak about India and Islam whilst in Manchester on a visit from Delhi. Also included is Scott's recommendation that Ali contact the Chamber of Commerce regarding giving an address, and suggestion that he might write a letter for publication in the Manchester Guardian on issues of common relevance to both India and Lancashire, an offer which is accepted.

Also included is a letter from R.C. Spencer at the Chamber of Commerce requesting a brief outline of a potential address, with suggestions on its title and content, which will go before the India Committee, but expressing the opinion that it is unlikely to be successful.

There is also a letter on introduction for Ali from H.W. Nevinson.
