Scope and Content

Correspondence with Arthur Leonard Lee, journalist, relating to an application for employment by Lee at the Manchester Guardian, with details of previous experience and previous work for the paper. Also included is correspondence between Lee and W.P. Crozier, and internal memoranda relating to discussion of Lee's ill health and inability to return to work, payment of wages during his illness, and reports on Lee from W.R. Douglas, physician. There is correspondence between Mrs A.L. Lee, wife of Lee, and Crozier, relating to arrangements for a meeting, and a reduction in the rate of payment of wages, owing to the length of his illness.
