Correspondence with Benjamin de Jong van Beek en Donk, pacifist and writer, relating to a request that Jong van Beek en Donk write an article on apprehension in Switzerland with relation to a proposed capital levy for publication in the Manchester Guardian.

Also included is correspondence with [Konni] Zilliacus, internationalist and politician, relating to the recommendation of Jong van Beek en Donk, and discussion of Jong van Beek en Donk's concerns over discerning and providing the right material as a correspondent for the Manchester Guardian in Geneva. There is correspondence relating to the termination of Jong van Beek en Donk's employment, owing to the decision by the Manchester Guardian to send a full time correspondent to Geneva.

There is a request that Jong van Beek en Donk provide reports on the [general conference of the International Labour Association], with reference to specific subjects to focus upon, and internal memoranda discussing the subject, and expenses incurred by Jong van Beek en Donk. Also included is a proposal by De Jong Van Beek en Donk that he write articles on illegal drug trade in Turkey, and on the opium and drug trade in general, with reference to the forthcoming conference on drug manufacture in Geneva, which are refused. There is a request by Jong van Beek en Donk that he regularly act as a substitute for the Manchester Guardian correspondent in Geneva when needed, which is refused.
