Florentin studied at the Victoria University, Manchester. She held residential positions at Manchester Babies Hospital, Manchester and Salford Hospital for Skin Diseases and Crossley Maternity Hospital, Ancoats. She later became assistant medical officer of health for Stoke Newington Metropolitan Borough and then senior medical officer for maternity and child health in Westham. Florentin was a member of the Society for Medical Officers of Health and the Medical Women's Federation.
