MB ChB Manch 1909; FRCS 1913.

Gow was educated at the University of Manchester and obtained a number of distinctions and medals. After qualifying, Gow held house appointments at Manchester Northern Hospital and MRI. Gow held many positions at MRI including resident medical officer at Central Branch and Barnes Convalescent Hospital and assistant surgical officer. Gow also held appointments at other hospitals in Manchester; he was honorary surgeon for children at Manchester Northern Hospital, assistant visiting surgeon at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, visiting surgeon at Crumpsall Hospital, consulting surgeon at Monsall Fever Hospital and was also honorary consulting surgeon at Victoria Memorial Hospital, Morecambe. Gow was a sought after surgeon and developed great skill in dealing with hare lip and cleft palate. Gow was a member of Manchester Medical Society and Manchester Surgical and Pathological Societies. He died in June 1944.
